Hi, y’all! We made it to Cocktail Hour!
And we have a major milestone to celebrate this week: We hit 1,000 subscribers!
That is a huge deal in the newsletter world, so thank you all for subscribing and supporting this work. It means a lot to me.
Can you please take 5 minutes to fill out a brief readers’ survey? It will help me immensely.
Take the survey here ↠ Bar\Heart Readers' Survey
As a reward, I'll send you free books! All you have to do is pay the $5 shipping (up to 2 books).
Between my research and publishers sending me review copies, my bookshelves are bulging, so this is a win-win: You get new stories and I get room for more books.
I’d like to get at least 100 responses (or 10% of the readership) so that I have a statistically relevant sampling. So if you think, Oh, she probably doesn’t need my response. The truth is, I do! I really do!
Here's how it works:

Review the list of available books ↠ Bar\Heart Book Giveaway
Email your pick and mailing address to amy@barheart.us (no more than 2)
I'll confirm that they are available.
You Venmo me the $5 shipping at @amy-haimerl
I mail you a new book to love!
Thanks, everyone!
Come celebrate with me LIVE on Instagram today at 4:30 p.m. EST.
There’s no specific cocktail or guest this week. I just want to jump on and say Happy Friday and thank you. You can ask any questions you have about life, Lovey, Detroit, the newsletter, whatever.
Just go to my Instagram profile (@haimerlad) to find the stream. You can also watch it later, if you can’t make the show live.

What drink should you make? Well, you can consult the list below. In honor of our 1,000 subscribers, I thought I’d compile a list of my favorite cocktails we’ve made. That way, new people can catch up on the fun!

Normally I have 3 great reads. This week, I was mostly off the Internet, so I only have one. But it's a good one. And maybe you need this advice, too? I think you can replace "writing" with whatever is important to you and the result is the same. And so she begins:

It’s the first week of lambing season at my parents’ place in Montana. Welcome the first baby of the season! It’s also my mother’s first-ever lambing season. And last night, she had her arms up inside a ewe’s uterus, trying to help her deliver. She’s a stronger woman than me, that’s for sure.
Ok. That's it for me this week. I know it is an abbreviated issue, but The Bestie™ is in town and we adventures to embark upon.
I'll see you next Friday for Cocktail Hour. And don't forget to look for me in your inbox on Tuesday; I'll be delivering the April Bar\Heart Book List.
